FAQs

How long will a rally last, and will I be in church all day?

Each rally will take place over an entire weekend with various activities and services planned throughout each day. In most cases FIRE will begin on Friday night and end on Sunday at noon.

Since this is a rally and not a convention, church services will not be held all day, every day. These rallies are designed to inspire and revive through services, classes, fellowship, and fun.

Are Gleaners invited to FIRE rallies?

Everyone is invited to all FIRE rallies which are designed for ages 12-35; however, at select rallies, there will be a big Gleaner event! At these rallies, the Gleaners will have their own activities at the same location but in a separate space apart from the older youth.

For additional information about Gleaner specific FIRE events, refer to the upcoming events section of this web page.

Why are most of the rallies conducted in areas with a large church membership?

Usually, the higher membership areas contain a higher volume of youth. In addition, the rallies are big events which will cost a large sum of money, so we want this investment to help as many of you as possible.

Will FIRE be in my language?

Absolutely! It’s our desire that there be no language barriers, therefore, we will work to make every rally multilingual when needed.

What part of FIRE will be broadcast?

Broadcasting the youth rallies would definitely be a great tool for drawing interest and building excitement leading up to the next rally. It would also provide you with the ability to be a part of the rally if circumstances prevent you from physically being there.

With that said, we will do our best to broadcast parts of FIRE when possible. However, it will primarily be determined by the internet capabilities at each venue as well as the availability of equipment for travel.  We are working closely with Shepherd's Voice Media for all of our media needs in relation to each rally.

Is there a dress code for FIRE rallies?

For services, we ask that you wear traditional worship service attire. These are sacred times, and we want to present ourselves in a way that reflects our reverence for the Lord. Some have asked about bringing their uniform (red and black or VLB vest if you have one), and, of course, this is always welcome, but not required!

We’ll be spending a lot of time in the sanctuary, even outside of scheduled services. While the atmosphere will be more relaxed, we still ask that you wear clothing appropriate for being in the sanctuary—things you would normally wear in a church setting, even if it is more casual.

We will also have time for recreational activities. Be sure to bring comfortable clothes to change into for those activities.

As always, modesty should be practiced in all settings.
